Who would have guessed. In the begging of the season Sunderland was favorited to finish dead last and last night their game against Everton secured their survival. Sunderland beating Everton 3 to nil gives them another chance at Premier League play next season. This will be Sunderland’s tenth consecutive season in the EPL sending Newcastle down to second tier for the first time since 2010.

Newcastle United will hold a full inquest following the club’s relegation from the Premier League, managing director Lee Charnley has promised.
